Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure every student has a pathway to success by bridging the gap between school-wide systems and intensive, 1:1 intervention. We believe that literacy is the foundation of opportunity, and we are dedicated to providing the specialized instruction necessary to make academic success an attainable reality for every learner.

Who We Are

Mr. MTSS brings over two decades of educational and operational leadership to the challenge of student achievement. Our work is centered on the Responsive MTSS Instruction model—a framework built on the belief that lasting success requires both high-level school systems and precise, individual intervention.

To turn this model into a reality, we provide support at every level of the learning journey. Our Maine-based Reading Center delivers the high-fidelity Tier 2 and Tier 3 clinical interventions necessary to close significant literacy gaps using the Science of Reading. Simultaneously, we partner with educators through specialized consulting to develop sustainable, building-wide frameworks.

Our Philosophy

At Mr. MTSS, we believe that a truly effective support system must be as dynamic as the students it serves. In the post-pandemic era, the diversity of academic and social-emotional needs within the classroom can feel like navigating a modern-day one-room schoolhouse. To meet these varied challenges, we move beyond traditional, rigid frameworks in favor of a Responsive MTSS Instruction model.

Our approach centers on the belief that instruction should be organized around four essential questions to remain student-centered and precise. We advocate for a Differentiated Core—utilizing station rotation and blended learning—to address the wide spectrum of Tier 1 needs. By shifting the focus to a strengths-based "diamond" model, we create pathways for both intensive intervention and student acceleration, ensuring that no learner is overlooked.

This philosophy drives everything we do, from the systemic frameworks we build with schools to the specialized Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy instruction provided at our Maine-based Reading Center.
